For performances.

Meta fields are not indexed by value, so if I used them, to retrieve the page that uses the requested translated slug, the database has to scan all values in the meta fields table. And if there are many, you have to wait longer before the page appears on your browser.

So I used a dedicated table with indexes that makes faster to get the page with the requested slug, and to find all the translated slugs of a page.

Hi everybody

First of all, thanx for the great work on localization and for the qtranslate plugin.
This is awsome.

I send a message today to inform about a bug in qtranslate slug plugin

Steps to reproduce :
Set up a page and assign two different slug for two different language : language1 and language2
You have to provide a page for language1 and an empty text field for language2.
If you try to view language2 version page, wordpress tells you something likes that : Sorry, this entry is only available in **language1**.
The link provided for language1 is wrong because it uses language2 slugs

There's an alternative to reproduce the bug :
If you are on language2 page in view mode, if you use qtranslate automatic links to switch language, slugs used to go to the right page are wrong

Hey, fabio84, is there a dedicated place for your plugin ? If we have bug tracker interface and source repository, maybe we could improve it ?

Have a good day everybody.

I was reading about the new features of wordpress 2.9, why not cloning posts with the translation_CC (cc is country code) as type? Would it change the qtranslate functionality too much?

I'm slightly confused as to how to get this plugin working on the front-end.

The fields are showing up in the backend and they're being stored in the database, but nothing is happening in my navigation (called via wp_list_pages). You mention embedding a function in the theme, but how, where and why should you do it?

I've got it partially working now - the URLs are showing but when you click on them they're returning 404 errors, any ideas?

The slug translation is Ok with posts, but not Ok with pages. Do you know why?

I was so happy to have found this wonderfull add-on that I've searching for so long thaqt I begun to have illusions for my SEO strategy! Unfortunately, just like tinhpx, this didn't work with the page. :-(

I do hope a good Samaritan, php-coding genius, will look at it and make it work nicely!

Obviously, having a slug translation feature native in qTranslate would make the plugin even more perfect. Please Quian Qin consider it Please, please. Please!

Fabio84 , would you accept to have somebody help to improve your nice addon?

Php-coders? Any genius to enhance the feature and make the slug-translation addon work for wordpress page?

yeah, a slug/permalink translation would be a welcome addition to this great plugin! Wpml doesn't handle it well and neither does qtranslate.
