How do I use quicktags on the title tag of my widgets? Lets say I have a google map installed as a sidebar widget, my default language is english and says Levitt PAvilion Location, but how do I get that in spanish. I tried using <!--:es--><!--:--> for the spanish side but it doesnt take on the title, only in the body. any ideas?

Have you tried using "[:es]Spanis[:en]English"(this is the actual syntax of the quicktags) ?

How do I use quicktags in my Wordpress "Tags?" At least Categories gives a separate entry for a title in each language, but I do not see that option when I go to Posts > Tags in the Wordpress admin. I have tried both [:en]Tag [:de]Tag and the <!--:en-->Tag<!--:--><!--:de-->Tag<!--:-->, but neither of them work.

Also, is it possible to use quicktags to switch images? If, in a side bar, I wanted there to be an image that had English text in English mode and German text in German mode, would either of those quicktags work to switch out images?

Lastly, why doesn't the language stay in English each time I switch a page? The website is default German, but when I choose to view the site in English, I have to translate EVERY page I go to into English by clicking the button when I go to a new page. It's really frustrating. :?

Hi alarch,

Just tried qTranslate and encounter tag problem as mention in this post. tried to use quick tag it does help to overcome missing "<" and ">".
however 2 problems encounter:
1. quick tag become visible in some area like mouse over title text and even some text link in li format.
2. I have to menually change normal tag to quick tag one by one in database.
May I know how you work around using html_entity_decode() function ? any example that you can offer ?

Thanks!

Good day Mr Qian Qin.

May be you've already answered this but i've been looking on the forum for a solution and found the quick tags but don't fully understand how to use that for what I want to do. I'm a starter on this and php programming, I want to use two separate fields in order to use one for each language at a regisration page.

Example:

<div id="english_description">
<textarea class="textArea_en">English text here</textarea>
</div>

<div id="spanish_description">
<textarea class="textArea_es">Texto en español aqui</textarea>
</div>

And on the post view area show only the selected language.

(english selected)
<div id="english_description">
<textarea class="textArea_en">English text here</textarea>
</div>

I want to do this on wordpress but i don't know how to do it for the post description area and one of the custom fields from the final user's page (the website), without entering the admin pannel of wordpress.

I hope I've been clear and you can answer to me soon.
please let me know if you need more info.

Thanks in advance for your valuable attention.

Guillermo

alarch wrote:Thanks a lot - you were exactly right. I have discovered that one workable solution (which I've tested to ensure that it works) for this scenario is to use the html_entity_decode() function to ensure that the "<" and ">" are converted back.

Can you help me understand how you would use the html_entity_decode() function to make sure they're converted? I think this is the issue I'm having. Thanks
