[SOLVED]Dashboard menus are half in French / half in English

Hello !

I use qTranslate to offer an English version of a French blog (2 languages English & French only).
I have set up French as my default language. qTranslate interface is in French too. But my WordPress dashboard menus appear half in French / half in English... I don't care, but some users do not understand everything in English, so I need the whole dashboard menu to be translated...

Everything is in French, but those menus are in English :
- Posts (and not its submenus),
- Comments,
- Appearance (and Editor submenu, but not theme),
- Plugins (and all its submenus),
- Tools (and all its submenus).

I hope someone can help me out ! That's quite disturbing !

in case you could not solve your problem yet...
I had the same issue with my "German" Wordpress installation. It worked originally fine, until the Upgrade to WP 3.4.1. I ignored it for some time, until finally I got so irritated. The issue started with the upgrade, as the automatic upgrade only installed the English version of Wordpress.

The QTranslate plugin does only automatically download "main" language files for Wordpress, but misses to download language files for the Admin GUI. The additional language files are contained in the localized wordpress installation package, you can download the ZIP file from fr.wordpress.org.
After downloading the ZIP, unpack it and go to the directory wp-content/languages. Then copy the additional .mo files to your wordpress installation directory.
admin-fr_FR.mo admin-network-fr_FR.mo continents-cities-fr_FR.mo

The just hit the Reload button in the browser ... and voilá.

Actually, I upgraded another blog using qTranslate to latest FR version a few days ago -manually-, and got the problem fixed. I was wondering why it solved the problem, thanks for pointing this out ! Now, I know I have to upload all my language files from new FR WP version manually to be sure it's alright. Some people may find this topic helpful to, I found many persons asking for answers on the web !

This could be added to the FAQ, no ? Might be a recurrent issue !
