i dont remmber why i was doing that,but i click in the language management without reading well Convert Database If you are updating from qTranslate 1.x or Polyglot, click here to convert posts to the new language tag format. If you have installed qTranslate for the first time on a Wordpress with existing posts, you can either go through all your posts manually and save them in the correct language and now when i click on the flags of my website www.torrettademassimi.it the Home page is not there anymore (except the main one which is in english) and it give me error.
somebody can help me please?

it seems like you are not using the widget for switching your languages.

Hey there,

just getting into your great looking plugin, so far polyglot2 has been working on my blog. My problem is that on my website there are several kinds of blog post:
German only without any [lang_de] tags (from the time before I started using ployglot2);
German/English only with corresponding [lang_xx] tags (because I was being lazy);
Mixed posts with both tags.

What's you're take on how to convert to qTranslate? If I scan for all [lang_xx] tags, what happens to the posts where there aren't any? And more important, when choosing the second option where qTranslate assumes that all posts are written in the standard language, what is going to happen to those posts that actually do have [lang_xx]tags? Can I then afterwards scan the database again for those tags to convert them to qTranslate and everything will be sort of fine?

Cheers,
Felix

ty ,
the widgets seems are ok,
I have the impression that there is no connection between the flags and the home page,like if was missing a link!
If i click on the main image the homepage appear (only in in the main language).
i really dont know how to move !!

Hi again, sort of found the answer myself after some testing on a small WP installation. The best strategy would be to first mark all posts as default language (obviously choose the language which has th emost posts that are lacking the [lang_xx] tags). Straight after that do the other conversion which corrects the bilingual posts. That way the loss is minimised.

Languages disappearing !

Postby leslierad » Mon Aug 03, 2009 10:03 pm

Hi Q,

I just upgraded to WP 2.8 and finally attempted to upgrade my qTranslate as per instruction on this post.

I am using 10 languages with about 400 posts all seems fine in the post editing side for all languages, just 3 languages dont load when trying to access them eg. winallpoker.com/nl/ + winallpoker.com/fr/ + winallpoker.com/it/ yet all other language pages load fine e.g winallpoker.com/de/ (currently have a 302 redirect to homepage in place until I can get a fix)

From Wordpress dashboard the same defunct languages it/nl/fr dont load when trying to access /wp-admin/?lang=it , yet all other languages working fine in WP dashboard.

Any quick tips on troubleshooting, I spent a few hours already with no luck and was hoping you could point me in the right direction.

Thanks
